"Great Carpet"
My husband is a builder and we have put this carpet in 4 homes now that we have lived in since 1988. It wears very well and cleans up (we have cats) with club soda or Resolve. It used to be 'trackless' - but the newer (and even more expensive) varieties now show foot prints more than the carpet we purchased in 1988. Not sure what happened. I have gotten all stains out - from grape jam to cocoa and a lot of cat throw up. I would probably buy it again but hope we are staying put this time.

"DuPont Stainmaster Carpet Lives Up to its Name"
I have had DuPont Stainmaster carpet in my rental for about three years. The carpet was installed new when I moved in and it still looks new. The Stainmaster line lives up to its name. I have spilled things on the carpet many times, even fruit juice, and it always comes right out with some simple carpet cleaner. The style of the carpet is Texture and the color is a light beige. This style of carpet is described as being good for high traffic areas and it has held up very well. It is still plush and beautiful even on the stairs and hallway where it gets a lot of traffic. It is also just the right amount of thickness. It is thick enough to be soft under your feet but not so thick that it is difficult to clean or vacuum. The only problem I have had with this carpet is that it is not the most pet-friendly. There is a noticeable worn spot where my cat has scratched it a few times, so this is something to keep in mind if you have pets.

this carpet is magnificent. I got brown carpet and the texture is so easily vaccumed that it will be able to last for at least another 10 years.

"DuPont Stainmaster Carpet is Plush, But Certainly Not Stain Resistant"
I have owned the carpet in my home for five years now. I like it because it is a "shag" carpet, (although much more even and uniform than the shag carpet of the seventies) It is the thickest, softest, most pleasant carpet I have ever seen. I have never needed to repair it or replace the carpet in my home. However, since it is white, I have had to have it professionally cleaned several times. The area between the front door and the kitchen, specifically, often shows an obvious trail of grime. The DuPont Stainmaster carpet did not really live up to it's name, as it has not been very stain resistant, and that is what I certainly dislike about this product. I would only recommend this carpet to a friend if they were going to purchase it in black, and I would buy this carpet again only if hardwood floors were impossible to buy.

"Review of Dupont Stainmaster Carpet"
The carpeting in our home is the original carpeting that came with our home. Our carpeting is about 15 years old, and has held up fairly well. It has been cleaned several times, and stands up well after cleaning. The only complaint I have about the carpet is that we have 2 predominant wave lines in our carpet that cannot be pulled out or stretched at all. One is in our master bedroom, and the other is in the hallway. Eventhough we had it streetched a few times, it still comes back. Our family room is very large (16x20) and the seam of the carpeting has never separated. I would recommend this carpeting to our friends. We have pets as well, and the carpeting does not "keep" stains, it does a very good job of repelling them. We have the same carpeting throughout the whole house, and it does wear very evenly. Some parts of the house need the carpeting replaced, and we are looking at the same carpeting when we decide to replace it.

"Wish it was better"
I hate this carpet, it reminds me everyday of why I prefer hardwood/laminate as oppose to carpet. It holds so much dirt. It is old. It is ugly. We have had several instances of water damage so God knows what we are inhaling. It is also rough. Carpet is supposed to be good for one reason, you can lay on it and be comfortable if it is thick. It is very difficult to clean, I have even bought a deep steamer. We recently had the part in my daughter room removed and placed laminate there, I wish I could afford to do the master. I would not purchase carpet at all. It is very high maintenance.

I have a nylon carpet in my large, year round Florida Room that is gorgeous. Spills and stains just wipe away one, two, three.
