Ambient specializes in bamboo flooring and claims its products are superior to other companies in the United States because other companies do not concentrate solely on bamboo.

Ambient Flooring Lines

Their strand woven bamboo flooring is environmentally friendly and is three times harder than traditional wood flooring. In January 2008, Ambient introduced the 'Granada Distressed' line which features strand woven bamboo floors that have been hand scraped. The company suggests this combines strength with aesthetic beauty.

Another product line introduced by Ambient into the market is a click lock strand woven bamboo floor. This type of flooring is sought after by many DIY homeowners because of the ease of installation and its 5-ply construction.

The hand-scraped honey bamboo flooring is among the company's most popular products. It is darker than regular bamboo and resembles oak flooring in color. This floor can be installed without nails or glue as the planks click into place. It is available in plank lengths of two, three, four, and six feet.

Taking Care Of Ambient Floors

It is best to keep a few spare planks on hand in case any issues arise with installed pieces. These extra planks are also a safe way of testing out new cleaning products. Ambient recommends using its unique brand of cleaning product on their floors, called 'Ambient Hardwood Floor Cleaner'.

A micro fiber dry mop should be used it to remove dirt from the floor before using any cleaning product is applied. The cleaner can then be sprayed on the wood, using a different mop to remove the cleaner. Ensure that the mop used is not wet but merely damp.

Scratches can be removed by taking the floor cleaner and rubbing it into the affected area with a soft cloth. If the scratch remains, a Zenith Tibet Almond Stick (an inexpensive and commonly used product on antique furniture and other wood products) may help further.
