"Durability Issues"
I bought the Handscraped Hickory Tuscany made by Home Legend (Home Nightmare) Their flooring scratches very easily and does not hold up under even minimal traffic conditions. The 25 year warranty means nothing to this manufacturer. They will not admit that their finish is very weak. If you are going to use this floor anywhere you plan to walk on beware that it scratches very easily. After contacting Home Legend they will not warranty the floor for scratches. The solution was to sand the whole floor done and use a minwax finish. I would seek other manufactures asides from Home Legend.

"Squeaking and cracking sound"
I'm having same complaints as others. Installed floor (twice) thinking that I did something wrong the first time. It sounds as if there is grit in between the seems and crackles as you walk on floor. I also read in FAQ on Home Legend site, the suggest adding baby powder to the seams and joints to reduce squeaking noise. This tells me immediately that they know there is an issue with this. Has anyone had any luck being reimbursed for this. Their is no way a floor should do this. I've installed some cheap ( I mean cheap) laminate floor before and never any issues like this. The sound of these floors are absolutely ridiculous. Home I have luck getting my money back.

"I thought I was buying my dream floor!"
About 3 months ago I bought Exotic Brazilian Cherry Finish Bamboo Wood for my floor in the living room and hallway and I really thought wow these floors are going to look amazing and they did! But as my husband was installing the floors, as he looked behind him there were scratches and dents when no one had even walked on it, I am still trying to figure it! But to make a long story short this product does not hold up to it's claims on the box and the company is not willing to help you! On the box it claims to be scratch and dent resistant and I know that of course its not completely scratch and dent proof buy these floors are ridiculously fragile my son dropped his empty plastic bottle and now there's a dent hello! I am so mad!

"Oak Verona"
I am a precision caprpenter (Professionl table saw etc...) and it was the first time I actually installed wood flooring, but to me not a big deal. Approximately 25% of the bottom wood glued to the bottom of the panels had cracks and small pieces missing. I followed the instructions precisely. The entire floor has a creaking and crackeling sound, even after two months. We no longer need an alarm system to alert us if a stranger is roaming about! I called Home Depot - who arranged the papers and the company arranged for an independent self employed rep. Who contracts with additional companies to inspect the six rooms already completed. He was not allowed to discuss any details about the floor with us (positive or negative) and wrote in his report that a few minor flaw areas were discovered. He took pictures, however not of anything positive or the boxes and lot numbers - only what he could find fault with (not of the panels with cracks, pieces missing or small knots not properly filled completely with filler.. We had to call to find the results. Home Legend nor Home Depot called us with any results -we had to contact them. How long were we supposed to wait before deciding to finish or not. The report claimed that the floor was improperly installed, even though 3/8 th 1/2 inch was allowed around the entire baseboard as the instructions specified. The boxes were left in the rooms for four or more days to reach normal room temperature as instructed. The creaking and cracking was noticeable as soon as just one half of a room was finished. On the bright side - the floor looks Great! But would I spend the time, effort and money to do it again with a Home Ledgend product? Absolutely not! As far as I'm concerned it was a waste of $5,700.00! The report has been not given to me or has anyone tried to contact me and I still do not have a satisfactory explanation about the creaking and cracking. I would take the Home Legend floor up right now but I spent so much time, money and hard work installing it. I have my own photos. How do I post them to prove my case? How can I record the creaking and cracking so that others can hear my problem? I am not the only review with this complaint, but probably the first to fully explain true feelings!

"Locking bamboo"
This locking product is trash! Do not buy! 25 years of flooring experience and I've never seen a worse product. Positive reviews are from product representative. The butt joints don't lock which leads to crackling through entire floor, even on perfectly prepared sub-floor. Please go with a staple down bamboo product to avoid certain disappointment

"Don't buy this!!"
My wife and I decided to go w/ engineered wood for the ease of installation. I have floor trade experience and found this product to be something I would not put in my home again! The finish does not hold up to minor daily activities. We have only had the floor in for 2 months and are already wishing we had not spent our $ and time on this product. Cleaning is a huge pain. If I could do it all again I would go w/ tile.

"Putting down hardwood floors"
In my home we have 6 dogs. We initially had wall to wall carpeting. After several years my house smelled musty and like a dog! We decided to put down hardwood floors. We selected Bamboo Toast, because of the light grain. It took us aproximatley 2 weeks to install it. Keep in mind my husband works a full time job! We installed it approximatley 3 months ago. Since installation my home seems much more cleaner brighter and smells much better! It is so much easyer to clean also! There is nothing at all about this floor I don't like. I would highly recommend this to all my friends and family! If I could do it over again I most definitley would!! I have 2 boxes in my garage incase I need to do repairs or replace boards but I have yet to use them!

"Nothing compares to the real thing!"
We installed this flooring in our master bedroom last summer. We love the deep reddish color, which has created visual interest in the room and makes it appear more luxurious. It was also important to us to purchase a flooring system that was pre-finished, which this is; as soon as the flooring was installed, we could put our furniture on it and were basically good to go. It's important to note that nobody goes in our bedroom except us; our cats are not allowed in, mostly to prevent damage to the furniture and the finish on the floor. Six cats could really do a number on a solid-wood floor! However, we have not seen any damage or distressing to the finish that has been caused by us or our furniture. We vacuum and sweep regularly, and clean the floor with a damp mop several times a year. That's all we've ever needed to do, and the floor looks shiny and impressive. I'm relieved that we don't have to use any special cleaners or oils on our floor. I would recommend this floor to anyone who is able to keep pets and rowdy children off of it in order to minimize the risk of damage to the finish. We are very happy with this in our bedroom; however, we'll stick with synthetics for more highly-traveled areas of our house.

"Home Legend Hardwood floors"
I have had these hardwood floors for two years now. I absolutely love the floor because it is really shiny but not cheesey fake looking floors and it does not look like you are going to slip and break a hip if a person walks across the floors but it does look clean and shiny and I get many complements on how nice my floors look. I dislike that the wood is easily dented or scratched but thats any wood really so it does not bother me that much. I have had to repair the floors once but that was because my child dropped a large cast iron pan on the floor and it created damage to the wood. I did not like to look at it because it was in a high traffic area so I decided to have that piece changed. Other than that I have not had the need to change or fix the floors and the floors are simply perfect and so easy to clean. I would definately buy this brand again. It is beautiful and has wonderful color and character and I love the grain of the wood. I would definately recommend it to a friend. I also would recommend it because it was not rediculously expensive to have this wood put into my home. I think it is a great deal all around.

"We love our wood floor!"
We bought our flooring in 1994 the year we purchased our home and my husband installed it himself. We love the fact that the floor was pretty simple to install as the flooring is wooden planks which simply butt up against each other after setting the wood on foam underlay material in the installing process. We love the fact that the flooring still holds a shine though I clean the floor once a week with Zep Cleaner. The floor is extremely durable and shows minimal scratches which is a definite plus as we had 5 small children at the time. We have gotten many compliments on our flooring especially the beautiful color. This floor cannot be mistaken for laminate as it is very beautiful and rich in color. There is nothing we dislike about our floor though my husband had to replace some planks after a couple of hurricanes hit our city in 2003 and 2005 as we had water damage. I would most definitely recommend this brand flooring to family and friends.
