"Mohawk Carpet in My Home"
The carpet I have was installed by the builder when I purchased my home 11 months ago. I am reasonably happy with it, but I think they chose a bottom-of-the-line product in order to save money, so I don't believe this is a premium installation. I do love the neutral color of sandy beige as it goes well with all my furniture. Additionally, the color makes the rooms of my home seem more tranquil and calming. I don't think this carpet is going to wear very well, as I've already worn a little "path" in hallways and from the living room into the master bedroom. The amount of foot traffic in this house is minimal as I live alone with only one dog, so perhaps the carpet could be a little more resistant to such wear. I anticipate that I will need to completely replace the carpet in my home within a year or so. I will probably not go with the same brand. This is not because I'm not happy with it, just because I have more of a preference for wood flooring. As far as recommendations go, I would advise any of my friends to shop for carpet which is more durable, and perhaps be willing to save a little longer in order to find something at a higher price range which will give them better wear and less maintenance costs. While it is dificult to control the carpet which may come in a new home purchase, it would be wise to ask the seller if they could at least provide a guarantee...

"Mediocre Carpet"
We have owned our carpet for over five years. We bought it when we built our house. We chose this carpet because it was suppose to be able to take high traffic and the color was darker to hide dirt and stains. What I like about it is the color and plush feel when it is clean and vacuumed. It also has cleaned well with a steam cleaning vacuum and has stayed in place for all these years. The things I dislike about it are it hasn't really held up for high traffic areas and while it cleans OK all over, the high traffic areas still look grimy even after multiple steam cleanings. We have not had to repair or replace any of it. I think if I was buying carpet again, I would still consider this brand as it has overall held up in our house. I don't know if I would specifically recommend this brand to a friend, but I wouldn't tell anyone not to buy it.

"Good Quality, Exaggerated Expectations"
For anyone who had looked at a home improvement magazine in the past decade, the Mohawk smartstrand ads are sure to be familiar. Whether it is a dog standing around hundreds of glasses of wine, ready to be knocked over to demonstrate the stain-resistance of the carpet or something else, the company certainly makes huge claims about the quality of their carpet and its ability to resist staining. I had a Mohawk smart strand carpet installed in my basement four years ago while remodeling my home, expecting nothing less than a miracle. While I did not get a miracle, I was, in general, pleased with the quality of the carpet. True to its claims, it does resist staining more than my old carpet did. However, when our plumbing went awry and leaked all over our basement, the stain was permanent, which made me wish that I had purchased a cheaper carpet that I could justify replacing in a couple years. For now, I guess I'm just stuck with an expensive, but stained carpet. I would recommend this carpet for people who know that they are not going to get flooded out or have any major disasters hit their house. It's a great product, but very expensive.

"my living room carpet"
i bought my living room carpet about 2 years ago. i really love it because of the fact that i dont have to worry about my floor being scratched anymore and also i like to watch tv sitting on my carpet. there is really nothing bad i could say about it except that if i was given the choice i would had gotten a different color. i would definitely recommend this brand of carpet because i haven't had any problem with this one and, if i was to buy another carpet i would buy it from the same brand "mohawk".

"The Most Comfortable Carpet in the Nation!"
I own a Mohawk Carpet, and I must say, it is excellent. The color (white) matches the rest of my master bedroom decor. This is a carpet where I don't mind sitting on the floor, because it is just as comfortable as the bed! My dog, who has been jumping on our bed for years now has now decided to sleep on the carpet because it is just that comfortable. However, getting an occasional stain out takes a little work, but it is worth the trade off, especially since merely closing the door to the master bedroom keeps the dog from going to the bathroom on it. The carpet is a only three years old, and we bought it to replace our old carpet, which was in bad condition. Since then, we have not needed to repair our carpet, and it is even in a highly respectable condition. When we vacuum it, it does not give us a hard time, as the crumbs, hairs, and flakes come right up. Due to the levels of satisfaction over the years, I would gladly recommend this carpeting to anyone.

"My Mohawk carpeting is beautiful!"
I've had Mohawk carpeting in my house for five years now. The style is cut Berber and the color is an off-white with brown flecks. I've been very pleased with the durability and wear of my carpet. I have quite a few pets, which translates to extra wear and occasional accidents, and I'm happy to say that this carpet cleans very easily and does not show stains! The only thing I dislike about my Mohawk carpet is that you can see a bit of a traffic lane in the most used part of the carpet. I have had the carpet professionally cleaned and although most of the carpet looked perfect after the cleaning, the traffic lane was still a bit worn. This may possibly be accentuated by the light color of my carpet; a darker color may not show the wear as much. Despite the traffic lane, I feel that Mohawk makes a good product and I would purchase their carpet again, as well as recommend it to a friend. Thank you!

"Me and My Warmed up Toes!"
I have a very fine style of carpet laid in my shop. I've had it for about three years now. I own a comic shop so I need something secure and warm for the comic boxes, something that also isn't stringy! I love this carpet, it's warm, and it's easy on the toes and bare feet. The comic boxes stack nice and firmly on it. When water gets spilt or the roof leaks it absorbs the water in one patch and it doesn't spread easily. I can't say there isn't anything I dislike about it! I have it professionally cleaned once a year! It goes well, I use an outside contracting company provided by my landlord. I would put this brand in my house if I ever have a comic room made. And I would so recommend this to a friend, especially one with kids for a play room carpet.

"This is my review of my fabulous mohawk carpet"
I've owned this carpet since september and it has been awesome to have. I walk barefoot everyday on it because it feels that great! The color is amazing and matches my place very well. I've never had to have it cleaned other than vacuuming. I will be buying Mohawk carpet for another place if and when i decide to move again, although it is fairly expensive but its worth it! Definitely worth recommending to friends too! I would recommend this carpet to anyone who wants a great look, amazing stand out quality and great feel to add to their place!

"Horrible Mohawk"
We purchased 90 yds of $32/sq yd Mohawk Paintbox carpet. Within 3 mos blotches of light/dark began to appear. It also began to 'frizz out' in spots looking like an animal had scratched at it but we've never had pets in our home. The blotching and frizzing appeared in areas of traffic as well as non traffic areas.Visiting friends would question 'what is wrong with your carpet?'. Our carpet retailer opened a claim with Mohawk who sent out an 'independent' inspector. Making a long story shorter Mohawk refused to stand behind their carpet even after an appeal. Interestingly, the Mohawk rep later removed that selection of carpet from the carpet retailer store! Hmmmmm Bottom line: Carpet retailer stood behind 1 room eating the costs. We had to replace the other room at our costs. I will never allow a strand of Mohawk in this home again nor in our rental units and advise you to go with Shaw instead of Mohawk. Mohawk warranty is not worth the paper it's printed upon. They do not care about the customer or the quality of their carpet.

"Mohawk: All Star"
Last year I was unfortunate enough to have someone break into my home and try to rob my family. Thankfully, being the constitutionalist I am, I grabbed my 9mm and defended my family. Well in the course of doing so I destroyed my carpet by shooting the criminal in the leg, which made him bleed profusely. So I found myself in the market for some new carpet. After a lot of research, I decided to purchase Mohawk Cambria carpet. Firstly, the carpet looks great and really upgraded my entire house. After I replaced the living room, I decided just to replace the entire house. It wasn't exactly cheap at 20 dollars a square yard, however it was well work it. The carpet is extremely durable and stains come out surprisingly easy. My new dog loves cuddling on the carpet, most nights she doesn't even sleep in her doggie bed! Overall, if you have the money, buy it, its worth it.
