"I will never have carpet again"
About 2 years ago, I purchased Mohawk carpet for my entire home. My husband and I bought a foreclosure home and decided to rip all the carpet out from the previous owners and install the new carpet. The shade we chose was a somewhat neutral color, one that was suggested to not show dirt. However, my husband and I learned rather quickly that the carpet that we thought would be great was easily soiled and difficult to remove even the most easiest of stains. I only had this carpet for a year and half before deciding to replace my livingroom with laminate. I plan to eventually remove the rest of the carpet out of my home as well. I had shampooed the carpets numerous times and used professional cleaning products but to no success, the stains did not come out. I will never purchase this brand of carpet ever again. It was no durable and even the smallest of stains was difficult to remove.

"The perfect balance of softness and durability"
I purchased some Mohawk Smartstrand carpeting approximately 3 years ago. Even though the carpet is technically a polyester, it feels softer than any of the other carpets out there. I needed to have "barefoot-friendly" carpeting in our living room. With having a dog, kids, and plenty of family get-togethers, I also wanted a carpet that would hold up to any type of spills and messes. The best part of the Smartstrand carpet is that I don't have to use any smelly cleaners on the spills; I can just use some warm water and virtually anything comes out. That includes mustard, wine, juice, you name it! I did have it cleaned by a company last year, I was told to do it every 18-24 months. It helped to refresh the carpeting and pick up any areas that were starting to look like a wear pattern, it looked brand new again. I would certainly recommend a Smartstrand carpet to anyone looking for a super-comfy carpet that can hold up to typical family traffic.

"The worst carpet ever"
I've had Mohawk carpeting for a couple of years now and I absolutely hate it! Any time something is dropped or spilled on the carpet it stains. I have three kids and believe me something is always being dropped on it. I've tried to steam clean it but the stains just won't come out. I've tried doing it by hand with a carpet cleaner but when I do it just makes another stain from the cleaner! I have given up. The only plus side to this carpet is that it handles light from my living room quite well. My living room is bathed in light for hours and so far it has held up its color with no fading. I would not buy this brand again and I definitely wouldn't recommend this to a friend. I'm just going to have the carpet replaced but this time I will replace it with hardwood floors!

"Only Good Things To Say About Mohawk"
We've had our Mohawk Custom Weave for six months now. It replaced six rooms of water-damaged hardwood floors. Using Mohawk's Custom Weave Boutique, we were able to choose just the right style for each room without sacrificing quality or having to mix and match manufacturers or installers. The loop pile is very easy to keep clean. We've only had it professionally cleaned once, because we do alright on our own. In fact, the only trouble we've had with the carpet happened when we had a service come in to clean it: the epoxy had not bonded properly, allowing the pad and carpet to bunch up under the steamer. This, though, was attributable to the installation; the quality of the product itself has so far been just fine. I would absolutely recommend Mohawk to someone else, specifically for theit huge selection and decent price for the quality of the carpet. I would, however, have the installation double-checked.

"My living room carpet"
This carpet was in my living room when I moved in over 3 years ago. It was one of the things that made me want the house. I love the color and how it hides dirt as I have 2 large dogs who ike to make a mess and also shed all year round. It has held up fairly well, however I dislike that it is starting to come "untangled." If I didn't have 2 large dogs that liked to play rough it would probably hold up even better.I had it professionally cleaned by Stanley Steamer and it looked much newer than when I first moved in! It smelled very fresh also. All in all I am quite satisfied. We are remodeling several other rooms in our house and would consider buying the same carpet again, and I have recommended it to a friend of mine who has a large long haired dog in her house.

"Avoid the berber!"
We finished our basement and had berber carpet installed approximately three years ago. When the carpet was first installed it looked great! We were very excited about how it gave the basement such a finished look and the installation seemed to go smoothly. Then, after a few months it started to show it's "true colors" so to speak. The fibers snagged easily and quickly began to look worn, the seams could easily be seen and the majority of the high traffic areas looked dingy. We haven't had the carpet professionally cleaned as we are not sure it would do any good. We have used home cleaners on some areas and they seem to work on small stains. We are not messy people and do not let our kids eat on the carpet. This type of carpet just seems to show every little speck of dirt. The carpet is not at all comfortable to lay on and we wish we had gone with something more plush. We decided to buy and install berber based on the recommendation of the carpet specialists we had visited with at several stores. All of them told us how well it held up and that it was great for family rooms or any high traffic area because of how well it would wear. Our experience has been the complete opposite and we will never again buy berber let alone recommend that a friend buy it. We may try another Mohawk product but we would be doing a great deal of research first to see how satisfied current owners are with the product.

"Mohawk Smartstrand"
We have jsut recently had this carpet installed, as it is supposed to be pet friendly. We like that is is low maintanace, unlike shaggier type carpets. We have not had to have it cleaned yet, but should be easy, as we got an off brown color. So far i would definatly buy this brand again.

"Good for the Price"
We put new carpeting in our home 7 years ago. Having 3 kids, though older, we decided not to opt for the most expensive carpeting. Considering the price the carpet had held up reasonably well. Ours is a light beige color and doesn't repel stains but any stains we've accrued in the carpet have been very easy to remove immediately with cold or hot water and a cloth. They still look very new for having been installed for close to eight years as well. The carpet is comfortable against our feet as well. We had the carpet in our rec room steam cleaned recently and it looked like new again! I would definitely recommend this carpet to anyone not looking to spend a lot of money on new carpet but who wants quality. I'm impressed with how it has held up and would carpet my house with it again if we need to in the future.

"It is what it is - A solid, decent carpet"
I've had this carpet for about a year now, and it's certainly an improvement over what we used to have to walk on before (a rather ugly, splotchy, gray affair). It was available in darker colors, which I still very much enjoy, (we have ours in a soft blue-gray), as that certainly enhances the aesthetic appeal of the interior, and helps reduce the visibility of the wear and tear. Unfortunately, it does seem to fray a bit easily on the sides, but that may have had to do with the installation more than anything. We haven't yet had it cleaned, so I am not certain as to how it holds up to that. While I can't say that it's perfect, or exactly what I would love, it is, nonetheless, a solid, decent product, and serves us well. I would certainly go this route again, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it.

"Wow"
The flooring was all I'd expect it to be. The texture was firm with a hint of soft.
