"Worst Carpet Ever!"
This is the 3rd time I've tried to post a review on Shaw carpet.
Specifically, I bought a Martha Stewart Lindenwald manufactured by Shaw
in July 2011 and less than 2 years later it looks worse than the 15 year
old carpet I replaced. I used the recommended pad (which of course was
extra) so as to get the warranty and I had no problem with the
installation which was done by a Home Depot contractor. However, the
quality of carpet is simply awful. Don't even bother trying to get
satisfaction from a warranty because they will not honor anything. They
have flat out denied any kind of proration or money back without even
sending out someone to inspect the carpet or even seeing it. I have
never bought carpet that wore this badly or looked so crappy. Do not
waste your hard earned money.
The carpet is garbage and, as a company, Shaw Carpet is not honorable.
I will never recommend nor ever again buy a Shaw carpet product.

"Very unsatisfied"
We bought our Shaw carpet 3 years ago. It was very expensive and was
suppose to have a lifetime guarantee. It looks 30 years old, very
compacted with rows running through it. We called the company and were
told to contact the dealer we purchased from. We contacted the carpet
store and were talked down to and were told since we did not have it
cleaned in the two year period the warranty was not valid. We did have
it cleaned just shy of 3 years. The salesmen at our store said the
reason the carpet looked so bad was because it was probably very dirty.
It is just my husband and I, we are retired so we don't have a lot of
traffic. Also, after having the carpet cleaned it looked just as bad. I
hope no one out there buys Shaw carpet. It is so expensive and is worse
than the cheapest carpet on the market.

"So disappointed!"
Within six months of buying this carpet I noticed the crushing/matting
and after a year it was so bad I contacted company who I purchased from
and Shaw sent someone out and they said this was normal. Less than one
year, yeah right. Second inspector said the carpet 'lost its memory and
should be replaced.' Shaw cleaned the carpet and it was back to the same
condition the following week. One year later and like other poster I am
embarrassed to have any one come to my home and there is only two of us
with no pets and this carpet is making my home look bad and I've always
taken pride in how my house look. We paid $5,000 for carpet and it needs
to be replaced 2.5 yrs later. Sent letter to CEO and no response! If
anybody has any suggestions of getting someone to take care of this
matter please let me know. I did have Dyson and ended up buying a Kirby
but no change in raising the pile. I feel I've been swindled!

"Defective carpet"
I purchased an upgraded carpet for my townhouse during construction.
Within months I knew there was a seam problem as the carpet was shedding
at the seams. I called the carpet supplier and after two separate
attempts the carpet seam appeared to be tight again. Fast forward a
couple of years and the carpet is separating and it appears to be
ripping along the backing thread at three different locations. When the
installer came out he said in thirty years he had never seen the backing
of a carpet fail like this. I would like to let you know this is
upstairs bedroom carpeting. The installer suggested at this point we
submit for a warranty claim with Shaw. At this point a third party
Inspector was called in. He was very thorough with the investigation and
submission to Shaw but I was denied any warranty. The supplier is still
very upset about my predicament and may cut me a special replacement
deal. We will see. Shaw's product is definitely defective and my advice
to anyone with a seam problem is to put on a defective claim
immediately. Too much time went by for me. I still will never buy
another Shaw product. They do not back it up. This product was obviously
defective as indicated to me by the repair tech and the third party
surveyor. There simply was not enough glue applied to the backing during
manufacturing.

"Shaw Tuftex Carpet Horrible"
We purchased our carpet through our builder Darling Homes. We purchased
a home in excess of $500,000 and Shaw carpets were what they had us
choose from. First of all I am terribly disappointed that Darling Homes
would use such poor carpet in their luxury homes. Anyone need read the
reviews and should not want to use this company.
We put the Tuftex sculptured carpet in our bedroom for an elegant, romantic feel. All I can say is that in under a year , the looped areas of the carpet are coming undone and we now have big strings of carpet hanging loose where the loops are all coming undone. Needless to say, the romantic, elegant feel has turned into a cheap mess.
I would not recommend anyone buy Shaw carpets and I feel my builder should be ashamed that they use such cheap carpet. We are currently trying to work with the warranty but I hold no hope after reading the other reviews and with what we are currently experiencing.
Very, very, disappointed. I am going to refer to better business bureau for sure.

"Beware - sheds horribly! Warranty no good"
Carpet sheds so badly, it clogs the vacuum hose. From when new to a year
later. Then found out warranty did not apply because it was put in a
rental house. Would not have helped anyway since Shaw said shedding was
normal. I guess in the next year every fiber of the carpet will be
sucked up in the vacuum cleaner. You just get the run around between
Shaw and Lowes. Do not buy Shaw products!

"Caress II"
We had Caress carpet installed in early June 2013. The advertising that
it is very soft is absolutely correct. When I purchased the carpet I was
very clear with the salesperson that I do not like or want carpet that
shows every track. Caress shows every track. I have replaced carpets in
my homes over the years and have never purchased a carpet that shows
tracks and packs as bad as Caress. The response from Shaw was of course
it tracks, it is a luxury carpet. The salesperson told me that all
carpet tracks and basically told me to suck it up. The salesperson did
not tell me that the carpet requires a special vacuum. My top of the
line Kenmore does not go high enough to enable a back and forth vacuum
motion. I must lift the head, place and pull back. I was given a list of
vacuums recommended for the product. Basically none are available in
Canada. The one I found did the same as my Kenmore. It needed to be
lifted and pulled back for each stroke. Within a short period of time
the seams started to show. Still waiting for the company we purchased
from to come and fix the seaming problem. I am not very happy.

"Denied claim"
The warranty on Shaw product All Star Weekend III Carpet is
worthless. After 4 months in a brand new build this product looked like
it had been installed 5 years ago and been walked on even longer. We are
couple in our mid 50's and it was installed in our bedroom. Mr Greg
Bryson denied the claim saying it was normal wear. He was not at all
helpful in this matter I asked to talk to his supervisor and he said
claim is final complain to where you bought it and hung up. This is
going to be the last time I will use Shaw products. I don't think this
will do any good but I can't recommend any Shaw Products.

"After One year Looks worse that 25 year old carpet I took out"
My Shaw carpet is worn, discolored, matted, and coming unraveled after
one year, and Shaw says this is acceptable and not covered under their
warranty. I had it professionally cleaned after one year, and the
cleaner says he cannot believe the amount of wear for one year. The
owner of the company I bought the carpet from says it is
unacceptable, but he cannot get Shaw to do anything. The Shaw rep says it
is not good, but the Shaw claims administrator (Greg Bryson) who has not
seen the carpet and sits in an office at Shaw says it is within Shaw's
acceptable performance for one year old carpet. What a company - I am
going to push this one all the way, as I cannot believe their senior
management or owner (Warren Buffet) would find this acceptable if they
could see the carpet. Also, they say Dyson vacuum cleaners are not
suitable for their carpets, and that they are seeing problems with their
carpet out side bathrooms due to chemicals - not the issues here, but
talk about trying to find excuses.

"Shaw is horrible"
I bought Shaw carpet and within five months it was showing obvious signs
of wear. Shaw refused to replace the carpet even though it had a five
year warranty. I would sue them if I could afford it.
