"No dogs allowed"
I told the sales lady I needed a carpet that could hold up to my dogs nails (a 65 lb. labradoodle) She recommended this commercial carpet by Shaws. I bought it and now every time my dog comes to the house there are pulls all over it. We have another dwelling will lots of carpeted rooms (not by Shaws) that the dog lives in. They have no pulls. When I called the co. about it I was told Shaws carpets are for human traffic not dogs. What garbage. I'll never buy Shaws again.

"Do not purchase Shaw carpet"
I bought Shaw carping from Carolina furniture and carpet. The first time it was installed they had to come a rip it all up due to stain spots appearing within 3 weeks of being installed. The company sent a rep. To come and test the carpet for defects, you guessed it was was a defective carpet. Carolina furniture told me to purchase a better grade I did all together the carpet cast me over $3000 dollars. The carpet that I paid more for has been down for 2 years and it looks like it's 15 years old. I would never ever recommend Shaw carpeting to anyone. By the way there is only me and my husband on the home so it can not be blamed on to many people in the house.

"Routinely catches, it absorbs dirt like a sponge, and is never clean looking"
We purchased 2 levels worth of flooring from Home Depot. Within several months this product (highly recommended by HD and with a Lifetime Warranty from Shaw is performing poorly. The carpeting routinely catches, it absorbs dirt like a sponge, and is never clean looking. Shaw sent an "independent" inspector to review this who wrote a very lengthy report that threw HD and its installers under the bus. This carpet is garbage and the company clearly has no interest in standing behind it. I will intentionally seek out alternative manufacturers in the future. This company is an embarrassment.

"Another casualty of Shaw warranty"
We purchased $7000.00 worth of what we were told was top of the line carpeting 4 years ago. There are only two of us in the home. The carpeting in the traffic areas especially looks horrible. Even after vacuuming they look worn and frayed. There are a few small orange spots that we have, but I told the inspector they weren't the issue. I don't know what the spots are. We had our carpeting cleaned per the warranty. The wearing is why we are so dissatisfied. He was clearly bought and paid for by the manufacturer. The more he talked the clearer that became. I told him he was a walking advertisement for hardwood flooring. He just ignored the wearing and concentrated on the spots. He told us stories of a situation of a teenage girl in a home he had once inspected washing her acne with hydrogen peroxide. He said that gets into the carpeting and causes spots. We don't have any teenagers and the story doesn't apply to us. He actually put that story into our review. We got a snow job of snow jobs! We got the ole bait and switch. He didn't mention the real problem and got out of dealing with it by changing the focus. Blaming hydrogen peroxide on someone else rug. I am being told that we have no recourse. Once a claim is denied, there isn't anything one can do. I am convinced warranties are meant to sell... not to be used or protect the consumer... at least a Shaw warranty. I guess the only thing I can do is warn anyone I hear who is shopping for carpeting. I will deter everyone away from anything with the Shaw name on it. There is absolutely no way we will ever purchase a Shaw brand in anyway, shape, or form. From the reviews I am reading, I am not alone. They have a track record.

"Looks like a seam in middle of bedroom"
It's been a year now and carpet looks loose and I can see what looks like a seam. Have had so many problems with installers, carpet quality in hall and steps that the carpet store doesn't want to repair or look at this carpet. Shame on you Carpets by Otto! And you want me to sign a Hush Agreement for a few bucks so you won't have to honor your commitment to customer satisfaction along with Costco. Most states have a consumer rights/protection act at no cost! Notice most of favorable reviews are Anonymous from 2010! If you state what's true list your name!

"Stay away from it"
I bought this from a local carpet retailer who said it was a very good carpet. I told her I needed something with stain resistance given that I have 2 dogs. She assured me this was it. Its been 3 months since install and I already hate this carpet. I spilled some coffee on it so I called my retailer who then referred me to Shaw since its obviously still under warrant, which is also another joke. She emailed a long list of different ways to remove stains and if that doesn't work, then I need to get it professionally steam cleaned. Are you kidding me! I was told stains would stay on top (bubble) so I just needed to wipe up. That simply isn't the case and they don't stand behind their warranty. I will never buy Shaw carpet again!

"Stain Warranty is a joke"
New home owner. $4000 on carpet. This is their top of the line carpet. Purchased for the stain warranty. A stain was discovered just months after moving in. Unsure as to origin. Called Shaw to pursue the stain warranty. Was told that unknown stains are not covered. Told to contact the reseller. Reseller said the carpet isn't warranted against stains. Called Shaw back. Told the owner has to know the stain origin. Told them I had dogs and that it could be urine. Not sure. My reply, what am I suppose to do; follow guests, dogs, everywhere and note what and when something is spilled or soiled?

"Defective carpet twice, third seam no match"
Shaw has no integrity, little quality, yet sales ppl tell u they r best, not true. Shaw sells seconds I think. First inspector by Toledo retailer, with great reputation said defective, 2nd inspection, Shaw said defective, 3rd inspection, said seam not matching, but Shaw had him change it! Costco sent me copy of this last inspection that's how I know Shaw has no integrity. Now they want me to sign a 2nd hush agreement. What does that say about Shaw? Carpet retailer doesn't want to service it as they know that seam won't b right and they didn't tell me it would look like the defective carpet they sold me. Privately owned carpet retailer in Perrysburg, & Holland near Toledo, I never had carpet problems b4 this!

"Consumers Taken advantage of"
I don't understand how a manufacturer is allowed to take advantage of this many consumers. I also paid over 5000 for this carpet for 28.00 yard install - not cheap. And within two years or less the carpet is mashed with extreme corn rows. The rep from the store I bought it from indicated it looked terrible! However no support from the manufacturer. This just doesn't seem right.

"Best warranty ever!"
Never doubt their after install Warranty! After 10 months and a dealer that went bankrupt, not only did they replace the carpet, they covered all the cost of the labor to reenstall. I am very impressed
