"Carpet Nightmare from day 1"
Home Depot/TrafficMaster Carpet stated they had trained installers & installation would take two days, instead they did rushed through the job in one day & the results show worn carpet, and to vacuum is very hard, because the carpet is laid in different grain patterns & makes it difficult to sweep. Very disappointed from the start & #1 Salesman, #2 Installer, #3 HomeDepots lack of concern in dealing with our situation and being the company that we put our trust in, never thinking this would happen. But BEWARE!!!!, For almost two years we tried to resolve the issue, but now they are using the Warranty to state their answer? Being two adults & 1 pet, shoes never worn on the carpet, still they ( Home Depot) Clean with Hot Water Extraction & then we send a third party to inspect said carpet? This is the worst flooring experience in our 58 years of owning a home. Sincerely The Carpet Seniors

"Toxic carpet"
The model I am reviewing is made by Engineered Flooring, LLC and sold under the name TrafficMaster at the Home Depot. It was installed in January 2022, just before I purchased the home. It not only gave off a highly intrusive, noxious odor, the off-gassing also caused asthmatic reactions/shortness of breath, dizziness, and terrible headaches. It was so bad, we could not move into the house. I left the windows open (even during the Minnesota winter) and put fans in the windows to pull the fumes out. When that didn't work after three months, I had the carpet professionally cleaned and eventually "sealed" - three times - with a non-toxic carpet sealant made by AFM and designed to seal in off-gassing. Even that did not solve the problem entirely, but enough that we could move in - four months later - though we will have to replace it before anyone can inhabit the carpeted rooms. I want to be clear that no one in my family is identified as "chemically sensitive" and we have had carpet installed before, so when I say this smelled extremely toxic, I am not comparing it to an ocean breeze, but other new carpet and new upholstered furniture I have had. Home Depot would not honor the warranty for the carpet and would not supply chemical safety data. They told me to reach out to Engineered Flooring LLC and a representative from that company said they would not provide a SDS/MSDS or any information regarding content or safety. The carpet is now off the Home Depot website, so I assume it was verified there was a problem, but I would not recommend buying Trafficmaster given this literally sickening and costly experience.

"Check The Warranty-Does Not Cover"
I had traffic master installed in my rental in February of 2020. 7 months later, after the first tenant moved out, two seams had separated and the carpet in several locations was coming apart from the burlap backing. I notified Home Depot, and they sent out their representative to re-measure those two rooms. I get the higher grade carpeting and heavier padding. Submitted a claim. They came back and said they do not warranty carpet installed in a residential rental property. They have installed over 35 properties for me in the last year and a half. Does not say that on any of the paperwork I have received either at time of purchase or at time of installation. Spoke with store management and main manager. Was told that no carpet company would warranty carpet in any rental. I've had Lowes installed in the past. Covered. I've had Marrett Carpeting, Sherwin Williams and others also. Never a problem. Goodbye home depot. Going back to Lowes.

"Don't Buy"
We had traffic master carpeting installed on a staircase about a year ago. The stairs do not get used very much, and on 2 of the steps the carpet fibers are coming loose in spots. Contacted Home Depot. They had me send photos, said they would send them to company and let me know. It has been over 4 months now, still have not heard anything. So ridiculous.

"Terrible Carpet"
I wish I had done my research and checked these reviews before I purchased TrafficMaster Priority (Crossroads color) carpet through Home Depot. With a name like TrafficMASTER one would expect the carpet could actually master traffic. It does not. The problem isn't with accidental spills or stains, it's with regular walking on the carpet. We have laminate flooring in our kitchen and the carpeted area is adjacent. After less than two weeks a terrible grayish dirt area appeared. I vacuumed multiple times and even tried to blot it with no success. We proceeded to cover an entire 6'x 9' area of the carpet with a throw rug and I initiated a warranty claim. This is the response from the manufacturer (sent via Home Depot): "The carpet is doing what it is supposed to do - release the soil - the soil is being tracked from the hard surface to the carpet." I was told to have the carpet professionally cleaned (which of course I will even after only a few months of 3 people walking on it). At this rate, I will need to have the carpet cleaned on a weekly/monthly basis to manage normal traffic. I'm now saving money to re-carpet our entire house with a better carpet, as this is ridiculous.

"Poor Quality Control"
Can't believe how unevenly the squares are cut and the colors from the same lot aren't even the same within the same box.

"Do Not Buy"
This carpet was installed in two rooms of my home on 12/17/19. Within weeks there were long dark streaks appearing and big splotches that looked like something had been poured on the carpet and then dried. I did a bit of research online and found that loom oil creates long dark stripes on newly installed carpet and thought maybe this was the issue. I contacted Home Depot, sent pictures and a sample of a remnant of this carpet that had been left by the installer that also had the stains on it. The manufacturer said the carpet sample tested negative for oils but offered to replace the carpet anyway. I told Home Depot I did not want this same carpet installed as I was worried it would have the same issue. I was told the replacement had to be the same product. So they ordered new carpet and it was installed on 2/4/19. After the first room was complete we looked and saw that the splotches that were visible on the old carpet were also visible all over the newly installed carpet. We told the installer not to bother with the second room since they had obviously sent the exact same carpet they had sent before. Do not buy this carpet, it looks worse than our 20 year old carpet we were replacing.

"You guys are unlucky"
Read some of these reviews and wow, there are some unlucky people out there. Had home depot install my carpet, and it is absolutely perfectly installed, very soft and comfy, doesnt burn my feet, doesnt crunch under my toes, or any of the other horror stories ive read. It does look absolultely fantastic though.

"This product is very poisonous"
Home depot salesperson talked me into this instead of a carpet roll for the convenience. my brother laid the carpet. i walked into the room in bare feet and within 30 seconds my feet were burning like they were on fire. immediately washed with soap several times, still hurt and burning like needles on the soles of my feet. next morning, i forgot and and walked in with bare feet again and same result. very painful and now we are afraid to let our animals in the room. went to home depot and they said since product can't be returned...i'm out of luck. carpet looks okay and has no odor. i had to buy an area rug to lay over it bc i cannot remove obvi since i had such a reaction.

"Terrible Product/Customer Service"
I purchased a berber carpet and noticed that it had a flaw in it after installation. We filed a claimed with Home Depot and Kraus flooring denied it. They have a lot of nerve blaming the consumer for their low quality product. It would have been a lot easier to just rip up my money. Wish I would have read the reviews from this company before purchasing their carpet. Hopefully word of mouth will help people from ending up like I did. Never buy anything made by them again!
