"Excuses, Ecuses, Excuses"
Had a flood back in May 2019. Our dining room, living room, 1 bedroom and 2 hallways flooring were replaced with Shaw Resilient vinyl planks. January 2020, started seeing the flooring come apart at the seems in the living room, we called the installer for an inspection and repair. The installer replaced the 5x5ft area of damage, as I was in my office the installer puts the loveseat back against the wall, shows my wife the floor and sneaks out of the house and left. I come out and inspect the work, moved the loveseat and found a .25" gap between planks and wall and a transition strip between the hallway and living room floor. Installer said: Transition strip was recommended by the career professionals[clowns] at the Box Store for floor expansion.

"Disappointed"
I did alot of research and thought I asked the appropriate questions before I purchased Shaw Laminate flooring. I advised that I have dogs and was told the this floor is durable. Well it is not...you have to wipe spills from children pets right away or the seams start to swell and raise... all this money and I am so disappointed. I would have preferred to purchase the water proof flooring...and in a few years that is what I will do but using a different brand.

"Shaw Resilient Flooring - Good for pets and gorilla glue accidents"
Having previously installed flooring ourselves and going through all the pitfalls of things that can go wrong, when we just moved we paid a company to install the Shaw Resilient Vinyl Plank in our whole house. It has only been in two weeks and looks great so far. I tested it first on samples before buying by letting bird poop and rabbit pee sit on samples for 5 and 10 days before cleaning and no staining occurred and cleaned super easy with just water (we tested a bunch of brands knowing what would happen with our numerous pet birds and rabbits). So, today after only having the floors in for 2 weeks my husband stepped in Gorilla glue and tracked it back and forth across the house twice (he thought it was packing tape from a moving box making the sticky noise....sigh). Needless to say I am now 8 hours after it dried removing dried gorilla glue from the new floors and very surprised to find it coming up with their floor cleaner diluted 1:4 and sitting for 2-3 minutes with a bit of fingernail scraping in a few spots (didnt have the mineral spirits recommended for adhesives - so unsure how that would have worked). Having tried to remove gorilla glue from other objects I am very happy to have only spent 50 minutes cleaning glue spots instead if multiple hours. So, at the moment going to recommend this floor.
( One caveat - unless you glue the planks together along the edges water / rabbit pee / coffee / ect that sits for a while can still get down between the planks to the subfloor with any click together flooring. That is why in my bird and rabbit rooms still putting sheet vinyl with coving around the edge - no way for liquids to leak through - Armstrong Medintech Diamond Industrial Colorfleck is what we are going to try this time - the residential brands just didnt last - too thin a coating and the rabbit pee and bird poop ate away the coatings really quickly and in 2 years lots of dull/ slightly miscolored spots. That said - the only Wood to hold up was strand woven bamboo - but even then after 5 years had some dull spots start - however the wood never got damaged!)

"Dont waste your time"
If you live in an area that gets any kind of moisture or humidity, don't waste your time. If you have kids or pets, don't waste your time. We have had our floors for a little over a year and we have so many buckles and peaks in our house it is ridiculous. During the summer, we have kids in and out of the house barefoot with sweaty feet or maybe from the wet lawn, and the floors will peak within 20 minutes if you are not right behind them drying it up. Don't let the dogs or cats in from outside without drying their feet fully because you will have peaks even if you don't think the feet are wet. Mist your plants with a spray bottle?? Not anymore you don't, any moisture will make these floors ugly and gross to walk on. This was the biggest waste of money and when I call about repairs, it will cost me a minimum $500 just to have someone come look at it. Of course, it is not covered under warranty because its caused by moisture. The salesman that came to our house guaranteed that this flooring was going to be resistant to any moisture or water that was spilled. What a joke. I had better success with flooring that I purchased from Sams Club and installed myself. It may have been cheap, but dang did it hold up to an army! This flooring doesn't hold up to a sneeze. We will have to replace our flooring within the next year I'm sure of it.

"Not pet friendly"
I work for an animal rescue and thought vinyl plank flooring would be ideal for the puppy room. I got a light gray wood grain type of plank. The puppy accidents sink into the grainy texture and is impossible to clean up. Also stains easily and retains odors. Very expensive and I'm going to have to replace the whole thing.

"Shaw does not honor their warranty"
We had two brands of flooring installed at the same time. the other brand we had no problems with what so ever, Shaw is cracking and peeling. Shaw sent out an inspector and claimed it was "improperly installed" (though we had the same installers as the other brand on the same day) When we disputed their claim, they simply ignored our email. Shaw is junk! They had a class action lawsuit October 2013 against them for this very thing.

"Vinyl Flooring Nightmare"
We purchased Shaw Charleston Vinyl planking. We chose to have it professionally installed. It was a nightmare! The tongue and groove are very small and it has to lock in "just so". If it was not locked in and you pushed down to lock in the plank, others that were loose would pop up and you would have to do it again. Very time consuming and stressful.
The man that laid our flooring is very experienced with all types of flooring. He has been in the business for years, he said he would never lay this again. So how in the world would a person like me with no skill at all ever be able to do this?
The end product is really nice, but it was a beast to lay. I will never buy a product like this again.

"I Hate my New Flooring"
I can't believe my new laminate flooring looks worse than my 30 year old carpet! My floor looks like the USA Olympic Hockey team practiced on it.
It looks nothing like the display swatch or the online pictures. I guess if I didn't let any light in my place I could hide all the defects. I wish I could upload a picture to show you how bad it actually is. Shaw Company states they do not have any customer satisfaction which I can see as there product is substandard. I work hard for my money, which I just threw away. I work in the medical business and if I used this product the patient would be dead

"Pure Crap!"
I wish there was a minus rating. This stuff is crap! It's supposed to have a 30 year warranty, but it started coming apart in six months. I've written to Shaw three times with no response. Avoid this flooring! Now I have to tear it all up and replace it and I'm not happy about it.
