"Disaster"
Two weeks after installation the flooring started to seperate from the bottom concrete slab, Empire came back to repair the floor but it continued to separate upstairs in the family room and the basement. After the third time they tried to blame it on a water leak without the water. An excuse not to take ownership of a subpor product for a cheaper flooring. Beware, do your homework and read the reviews, I just assumed they were legit just because they are Empire. It seems this is an ongoing problem with them of putting out cheap defective flooring.

"Horrible flooring"
We put this down after a major in August, it's now December, and they flooring has splintered, cracked and chipped in all rooms in several places. We filed a claim with Shaw through the distributor and Shaw came back with they tested their product and found no flaws in manufacturing. We can have boards replaced at our own expense. Now on line I’m reading serval reviews that state otherwise. Many consumers having the same problems. DO NOT buy this product.

"Worst flooring you could buy"
Our wood floors were put in professionally two years ago. Even with felt pads on my chairs like the manufacturer suggests they still leave grooves in the flooring. Where there is knots in the planks, they are chipping out. There's other parts of the flooring that slivers are just popping up in the center of the planks and we will get splinters in our feet occasionally. Manufacturer set a claims rep out and they denied our claim. And they said that was normal wear. I'm sorry but after two years this is not normal wear especially where the flooring is just coming apart in the middle of the planks, that is a manufactures defect! Do not buy from this company because they do not stand behind their product or warranty. I will never buy another piece of flooring from this company and I hope nobody else does either after reading these reviews.

"Expired Sample"
After part of our house flooded, we decided to go with Shaw. We picked up samples, and found one that matched our existing floor almost perfectly. We had the flooring company order according to the sample we were provided, then had them schedule the installer. When the installer arrived and started work, my wife happened to walk past the opened door to the room he was finishing up, and noticed that he was installing the wrong flooring. Work stopped, and the phone calls started. Shaw sent out a representative to investigate - he stated (to my wife) that the numbers matched, so it was the right floor, even after she showed him the sample laying on the new floor. After looking at the sample, the rep told my wife that it was an old sample. I didn't realize that wood floor samples had an expiration date. Outside (away from my wife) the rep told the installer that there was no way that floor matched the sample. After several weeks of review, Shaw decided that they would not pay to remove the floor (that doesn't match), and that the "color" was right. This is supposed to be a hand-scraped hardwood, one of their top of the line floors, but it looks like some cheap garbage you would find in a trailer house. Shaw has completely lost our business. I will cut down trees and make it myself before I ever spend another penny on any Shaw product.
Worthless customer service

"Extremely Disappointed"
Had this flooring put down in almost my whole first floor. Cost us $17,000. Had it professionally put down in 2018. Don't waste your money. Unbelievable how poor quality it is. It scratches and dents really easy. I get upset every time I clean my floor and see all the knicks. We don't wear shoes in the house and I don't consider us to be rough or careless. Very disappointed!

"Don't do it"
I purchased a maple wood floor from this company. The actual floor looked nothing like the sample. I understand that wood will vary in appearance, but it's not even close. I wish I could upload photos. It was described as wood tones and grey hues, and that was consistent with the sample. What did I get? Abrasive and bold black streaking on almost every plank. My friends call my house the zebra house. Or simply say that it's the ugliest floor they've ever seen. The response from Anderson, you ask? Nada. That "wood tones may vary". So I guess that means you can insert anything into the product and fall back on that disclaimer. It may as well be purple. And if it was..... I would still be stuck with it.
This company doesn't stand by anything they claim.
Don't. Do. It.
Don't read the few positive reviews and chalk the bad ones up to "difficult people". Please give credit to what you read. And yes, there will always be complainers in the world, but sometimes where there's smoke.... there's fire.

"Old Virginia not worth it"
The initial flooring is absolutely gorgeous but with use it doesn't wear well at all. I've had to refinish my living room and it looks awful. The staircase finish is all wearing off at the edges. Parts of the upstairs hallway are also losing the finish and its maybe 8 years old and this has been going on for the last 4 years. This is in a house with 2 people and 2 dogs. Not tons of foot traffic. Very expensive flooring for the short time that its lasted. Def don't recommend for a household of more than 1 lol.

"Defective Flooring- Anderson refuses to repair on brand new home"
Immediately after moving into our new home in July 2016 we began to notice the floor would look scratched even from something as simple as moving a chair out from under our dining room table (even without anyone physically sitting in the chair). We chalked it up to the furniture, put felt pads on the bottoms of all the furniture and laid down area rugs & runners. I would use the "touch up marker" provided when we moved in and keep an eye on the area. Throughout the next year we would find areas of the floor pealing and chipping not only in high traffic areas such as the walkways (again where we had floor runners laid) but in corners where there was no traffic, the area was away from any elements (including water, our dogs, sunlight etc). Not just small areas either, large sections of floor peeling. At that point I decided to reach back out to our builder as I knew this was much more than normal wear and tear. Our floor was actually delaminating!
Fast forward to the Summer / Fall of 2017, I reached out numerous times to the floor company, Interior Specialist as well as Armstrong Floors. Armstrong said we had to work with Interior Specialist. Interior Specialist said they were past their 1 year warrantee so it was no longer something they would cover. Armstrong floors came back stating Interior Specialist still had to set up the claim process and have an inspector come to our home.
On 2 different occasions we had inspectors to our home. Both of those inspectors said it is extremely difficult for Armstrong to recognize the product as a default on their end and that the fact we have young kids as well as dogs would be a downfall in Armstrong repairing their faulty product (even though it was still under warrantee from the manufacturer). The inspectors also told us we had to really push to get anywhere and continue to follow up or else we would not get resolutions. What?!?!
We are homeowners with new floors that look like they are 15 years old. And they aren't standing behind their product?
After sometime and follow up in late 2017 / early 2018, Interior Specialists said our claim was denied, deemed the delamination was our fault. Because our house in "lived in" and we have 2 bid dogs, our claim was shut down with no resolution provided. Just like the inspectors said would happen. I cannot tell you how disappointing this is. Our new home, the floors look horrible, its embarrassing to have anyone come into our home unless we keep the rugs down. I have reached out to our builder who has time and time again tried to assist. I have let them know the troubles we have had and highly recommended they never use this company again! Not only because of the crap floors but because of the way they do not stand behind their product. Customer service means the world. Armstrong cannot provide even mediocre service to their clients.
Who cares if I have dogs and an ice-maker. The average family has at least 1 of the 2.... That does not explain the damage in the no traffic, no touch areas! I would Never recommend this product to a friend, family or even acquaintance. If you are looking for floors, look somewhere else.

"Eagle Lodge Disappointment"
Do not float this floor!
We had Eagle Lodge installed in November 2013. As our subfloor is a concrete slab, we opted for a floating installation. Our beautiful floor bounced and hissed when we walked across it. After several visits from Anderson, it was determined that the floor was defective.
Fast forward to July 2014 when Anderson claims to have upgraded their factory to make flat boards again.. The first shipment was the wrong color; in fact, it hadn't passed Quality Control. If only we knew this before our floor was removed! And before we moved out of our house to make room for the installers! After three months and four shipments of warped boards, Anderson did the right thing and bought their floor back.
We found another similar floor. We explained what had happened with Anderson, and they promised that their floor would not have the same issues. Fortunately, they were true to their word and the floor went down with no trouble and we can comfortably and quietly walk across our floor.
Ultimately, Anderson did the right thing, but not without putting us through ten months of aggravation and a great deal of expense. Shame on Anderson for advertising something beyond their capability to provide: a flat floor that can be installed using the floating method.

"Very poor quality"
Purchased Urban Loft by Anderson floors. The floors cupped despite having an acceptable moisture level. They also look extremely dirty. I cannot believe how cheap they floors look. Stay away from this brand as the company just doesn't stand behind their product.
