"Go somewhere else"
We had wood flooring installed for a hallway and landing that was carpeted. It took 2 days for the install. The guy we had install it was from an eastern European country and I think this was his first job. I felt badly for him. Apparently the company didn't tell him we had a curved landing. On the second day, he was near the end of the job and ran out of material. So he had to drive 100 miles round trip to get more. I blame the company as they gave him bad information. I felt badly for him, I gave him an extra $100. Empire appears to hire people without giving them much information. After a year, the wood floor isn't holding up either and is showing scratches. I thought Armstrong was a good brand. When I needed carpet, I didn't even consider Empire and won't again. 1-888-2300 Don't use Empire.

"Terrible "finish""
So much for a "50 year" warranty. I got the 5 inch wide maple in cranberry wood and installed the flooring 4 years ago. The color looked great when it was installed but within a few weeks, little flakes of color came up. Move a cardboard box, remove some finish. Four years after the install you can see where we walk as the finish is worn off. I am going to have to have my floors sanded down (which is going to remove the handscaped look) and stained to fix it. The original cheap flooring from 1901 looked better then this product does after only 4 years. As much as I spent on getting solid hardwood flooring, I expected the finish to be a stain with a top coat to seal it. Instead, it is more like a painted on finish that sits on top of the wood but does not penetrate into it.

"Easy Peasy"
Called empire on 8-10-2020 Christina came to show samples on 8-11 I choose the Armstrong hardwood. She scheduled the installation for 8-12-2020. At the scheduled time Paul shows up 830 a m "317 sq. Ft. Job" I was disappointed to hear he got this himself. Let me tell you something Paul is without a doubt a one man crew. It was like watching a master craftsman in his element. Not big on conversation or breaks, my goodness the man can work. At 9 p m I had the most beautiful floor I could ever ask for. I'm not a big business person but if I was empire paul would be the last employee I'd ever want to lose. I'm can't believe I'm sofa king happy I didn't do this myself and enlisted friends. Empire in my situation you delivered all promises. Thank you Scott

"Not durable as promised"
Vinyl flooring chips if anything is dropped on it. By 6 month of use I have 11 chips in my floor.Truth in sales...guess it does not exist at least with Armstrong. It is just 2 people, husband and wife. Chips Not covered under warranty . At the time of purchase no warranty paper work was given to us. After complaining about the vinyl and asking for warranty I was told they did not have any! I called the 800 # for armstrong and was told they would email it to me. I asked about fillers for the chips but they dont have any.

"Urethane finish peeling away"
Armstrong engineered Beckford Oak flooring: The urethane finish on this engineered floor is peeling off. And these "spots" are getting larger and larger. Installer doesn't want to fix, builder doesn't want to fix. The 25 yr. warranty has so many "disclaimers" that I am amazed there is ever an actual "fix" for anyone's Armstrong floor problems. Just don't buy this product.

"Sub-standard wood"
Got new hardwood flooring installed by Empire-Today in August 2017, with the Armstrong Bruce Solid Oak 3.5 inch ButterScotch hardwood. After observing the installed flooring for a couple of week, I must state that the hardwood is of sub-standard quality and has an inferior finish: got multiple chippings at a number of places, and developed visible scratches and marks all over.
I would never buy it again!

"Must replace floor"
We installed Armstrongs highest priced laminate 3/17. Boards would not fit and many have since separated. The retailer Lowes, referred us to Armstrong and they had an inspector come to our home. Nothing in his report relates to the possible cause of our problem but it is blamed on us for not installing it properly. The fact is this is a poorly designed product but with the underlay attached is a new thing and an attractive selling point, together with their warranty which nobody has ever qualified for. Our claim was denied.

"Waste of $15k. No product support"
Closed oct 26, 2016. Within a week, splintering into socks or bare feet.
Had them inspect, they tried to blame me. Yes, I'm sorry I walked on my
floor. Heaven forbid I do more than look at my floor through a window.
My tip if you did buy - use twitter and keep tagging your builder,
installer and Armstrong pics of their horrible product.

"Stay Away"
We installed Armstrong Hickory Candy Apple 5" Wood floors into 4 rooms
in our house 3 years ago. The house has been inhabited and climate
controlled for all 3 years. It was put down by a flooring professional
who followed the manufacture's instructions. It has never been wet
cleaned, only vacuumed. The problem is that the individual boards are
contracting and leaving very unsightly seams between boards which are
exposing the unfinished wood. These were not inexpensive floors and they
have not met expectations in the least. Contacted Tanner j Ratliff from
Armstrong customer service who gave the run around story of contact the
retailer first, somehow get them to come out and inspect the floor and
then have them send a claim to Armstrong. This is total bs, if you
manufactured the floor, you should stand by your product. You buy a
couch from Raymor and Flanigan and it develops a tear in the seam, you
know what they do, they replace it, they stand by what they sell. This
is not Armstrong's policy, they will lay blame in every other direction
until you give up. I can not tell everyone more emphatically who is
looking for a new hardwood floor to stay away from this company. Their
products are inferior!

"Brazilian Cherry Engineered Hardwood"
Self-installed this hardwood flooring in our den according to
manfacturer's instructions. Floor looks great. Installation was a
breeze. Used a premium underlayment and the floor feels very comfortable
w/ bare feet. Have had no movement or creaking but as mentioned we
prepped and met the recommendations for tolerances in grade etc.
Does brand wear well? I took a knife to a sample I requested and it did not scratch unless I jabbed straight on, which is to be expected. Has held up very well so far. Very easy to clean but in all honesty we don't have a ton of traffic on this floor.
I would buy this floor again.
