"Garbage "hard" Maple"
We installed Mercier engineered hardwood 2.5 years ago.
#1 Within a week our dogs had destroyed it. We anticipated the dogs marking the floors but this is ridiculous. It is so soft you can dent it with a finger nail.
#2 Most of the edges are worn to the hardwood. You can scrap it off with your finger nail. This has happened in areas the dogs cannot happen such as under the dining room table.
We sent a sample in and the confirmed there is nothing wrong with the finish and that the installers used the wrong blade. WTF?
We just gave up until recently...
Shortly after it was installed a bluish-purple sport appeared. We assumed it was a defect but not worth the hassle of dealing with. In the past six months these spots, some the size of the dime, others a loonie have been appearing all over the floor. Including areas never touched such as under the couches. Some are pitted, others still sealed under the finished. The dealer sent the pictures to Mercier. Their response
"After validation since this problem seems to occur at home and wood quality is not involve, we cannot send a representator."
What a crock. I am not done with this, social media is powerful, anyone not happy please contact me and let's see if we can get some satisfaction out of this terrible company.

"Absolutely Georgous"
I installed my flooring very carefully by myself. I was told that this
was a very high quality brand and I will say that I think it is
absolutely gorgeous! The Maple flooring has wood grain that is so
beautiful it is mesmerizing. I wanted to post this to counterbalance
some of the negative reviews I have been reading here. Some of what I
have read seems extremely unfair to the company. I would buy this same
brand again no problem. Keep in mind if you order a hardwood floor that
you will need at least one more box than you anticipate so buy it and
don't be cheap, you will risk getting wood from a different batch and
the finish will not be an exact match. I will repeat this floor is
absolutely gorgeous... as I like to say 5 Stars across the board!

"Mercier Brazilian Cherry Floor"
We had Mercier brazilian cherry installed in our kitchen and into our
hallway. The color out of the box was a beautiful mix of red/red brown
floor boards. However, when we ordered another box to fill in the last
4-5 boards needed, the color of the flooring out of the box was very
gold in color! Not even anywhere near the color of the other floor
boards. Mercier will not exchange the box of flooring and Prosource will
not refund our money. In fact the manager at Prosource told me that I
most likely don't remember the color of my floor when it was installed,
even though we have pictures to prove otherwise. We have been told to
wait until it changes color, perhaps six months to a year down the road!
Seriously, who wants floor boards that are completely unmatched for
color? Worst companies for customer service that I have ever dealt with.
I would suggest not buying Mercier flooring and stay away from
Prosource.

"Dont do it"
Warning I ordered floors from this company and they messed up the order
3 times and I still don't have the floors 64 days later. I have received
no help.... I have been promised phone calls but they seem to never
follow through and call. Run run run to another floor manufacturer as
fast you can!

"Terrible"
Had my whole house done with Mercier flooring and within days I had lots
of cracks all over. Had to settle with the store to replace some lats of
woods but after that your floor is never the same. Will never buy that
product again and do not bother with the rep, he will not be on your
side. Just be safe, do not buy that product.

"Amazing looking floor"
Recently bought Mercier's rift & quartered white oak engineered wide
boards. This floor looks amazing. I chose the satin finish, which shows
the richness of that wood specie and unique cut. Very satisfied with
everything.

"Mercier top of the line floor/finish cracking"
Our Mercier floor was installed pre-finished and at year 4 or 5 the
finish started to crack in spots and continued to worsen and now needs
refinishing. A call to Mercier was a flag under warranty but they are
looking for a way to blame pets, usage etc. You need to walk barefoot
or in socks and keep your pets and children off this floor. Not a
durable finish at all. Have had dogs for 35 yrs and the rest of the
floors in the house look fine. The addition where we laid new floor
looks terrible.

"Mercier is Terrible"
Our Mercier maple floor is soft, soft, soft. Brand new floor 12 weeks a
go and dropped a cardboard coaster from 12 inches and it dented. Our
floor is a mess and we are super careful with it. Mercier rep took
samples and declared nothing wrong with their product. Sad company.
Consider a more reputable manufacturer - Mercier leave you disappointed.

"Maple dents & scratches so easy - poor choice"
Ten years of disappointing wear and durability. We were sold on Mercier
as being top quality and excellent wearability. Countless scratches from
light duty use by retired couple. Only heavy usage during family visits
and holiday gettogethers. This flooring is not hard. It is tender and
prone to scratch and dent with light usage. We are deeply disappointed
with Mercier maple flooring and only wish we'd bought a better product
for our home.

"Don't buy Mercier"
I bought Mercier pre-finished hard wood flooring thinking that it would
last well past the 7 year warranty that is offered. Well, when I had a
problem with the floor, I.E. painters tape torn off the finish. Mercier
sent out a local rep who went through all the standard procedures of
documenting the problem. Once the documents were sent to Corporate, the
rubber hit the road as far as their warranty. Here's what they said,
"all defects found in the flooring are related to missuse of the product
including bad maintenance and usage of tape on the floor. In this case,
finish peeling and dark V-joints indicates the flooring has been in
contact with water or high moisture which is associated with spills or
improper cleaning method".
Are you kidding me, do spills never happen?? Does noone put painters tape on the floor to paint or protect the flooring from paint?? And there analysis is from a few pictures. They basically blew me off and said good luck. I have hardwood floor on my 2nd floor that are over 50 years old and they look and have withstood the test of time far better than Marcier flooring.
Mercier has no local representation that can make any decisions. All decisions and correspondence is with Canada.
I would not recommend Mercier flooring to anyone. Stick with the unfinished hardwood with 3 coats of finish.
