"$22,000 Wasted"
Purchased $22,000 of Mirage Classic Umbria flooring for my new home. Was told by the salesperson that this was the best flooring on the market--best for kids and dogs she said. No kids and a 14 year old cairn terrier, and our floors look 50 years old. Did I say we have only been in our house 2 1/2 years? The floor, from move in, day dented, scratched, and showed tracking marks on the wood. I called the Mirage Rep in Canada six weeks into this nightmare, and was told to "embrace" the dents and scratches. I honestly can't understand why any company would make such an inferior product and yet advertise it as family friendly.
I am sickened every time I look at my floors. You can literally put dents in the flooring with a fingernail! Anything set on the floor leaves dents.
It is truly a nightmare. I only wish I had found these websites before I purchased from Mirage. If I could afford to tear it all out, I would.

"Scratches on floor"
Re L. Latt comment. Latt said he had some work done and they laid huge, thick, padded tarps on the floor. The(y) were extremely careful and little was done on or near the floor yet two good size scratches showed up and a few dents. How true is this comment? Well, Imagine you apply the way Latt treat his floor on your skin, that is, you laid huge, thick, padded tarps on your skin. You are extremely careful and little was done on or near the skin. How likely you end up with two good size scratches showed up on your skin? Well, my answer is very unlikely! If the skin won't end up with scratches, how come a wood floor would have scratches showed up under the same condition? In short, my question is - How likely Latt comment is true?

"Engineered dents and scratches way too easily"
I read great reviews about Mirage engineered flooring. How they use a very hard birch under the wood to make it more durable. The first day my floors were put in I dropped a light weight plate on the floor and got a good size dent. Today I had some work done and they laid huge, thick, padded tarps on the floor. The were extremely careful and little was done on or near the floor yet two good size scratches showed up and a few dents. Their floors are not great what so ever and do not hold up to the claims Mirage makes about their products.
I had to wait for two months after I ordered the floor because the molding was on back order. Then my floor arrived with the wrong color molding. I may have to wait another month to get the right molding. That was very disappointing as well.

"A self contradicting review"
I enjoy reading review. Some just make you laugh. As per B Bob review, he claimed he is very aware of floor care. However, he said he walked on the floor with pebble under his shoes. Most probably this shoes is for outdoor and he walked around his floor with an outdoor shoes. If so, how likely Bob is very aware of of floor care? Also I am a little bit curious. If Bob wore soft shoe with pebble under it, he should feel very uncomfortable. Why didn't he take the shoes off his feet when he's home but to walk with it around his home. I can only say Bob story just doesn't make up. Next time when someone make up a story, please make some sense!

"Soft Wood"
We researched flooring and went with Mirage for the look and imagined quality. We bought the oak with cashmere finish. It installed beautifully and looked great. The finish is beautiful. After waiting for so long to install hardwood floors at this property we are totally disappointed in how easy the floors gouge and dent. I am very aware of floor care and keep the floors impecibly clean but the wood is unforgiving. We have to use carpets everywhere you step and/or wear socks only. One little pebble under a soft shoe or a dropped dish and the floor is permanently marred! I've lived with hardwood flooring for years and never encountered this problem. No second chance on this product.

"ARS and Greta reviews are against Law of Nature"
ARS and Greta said Mirage flooring will dent and scratch even by walking on it. However, their comments are against physics. Wood will not dent or scratch if you don't do any harm on it. This is the law of nature. This is physics. Period. If anyone claimed they walk gently on the floor but the floor is still fill up with dent and scratches, they must be lying. Just take an egg as an example. Egg is very delicate (must be more delicate than wood). However, if you just hold the egg in your hand, it will not break. I saw video having a fat guy stepping on a box of eggs without breaking it / without causing any dent or any scratch on it. Even something as delicate as eggs, you need to use some force to hit on it to make it break. So if someone say the floor dent and scratch by walking on it, it is a complete LIE. Just a friendly reminder to people who make up stories to defame a brand. Please make some sense when you make up the stories. Don't say something which is against the law of nature!

"I agree with the negative reviews"
We are super gentle with our floors but each day/week we find new dents in the floor. We do not have dogs. We have declawed elderly cats who sleep all day. I take my shoes off in the house. Tonight I noticed another huge dent and have NO idea how it could have gotten there so I got online to see how to repair it and saw all these bad reviews. I wish I would have seen them before we spent so much money on these. My contractor was even upset at how much these floors cost and then they were back ordered and took and extra 2 months to come in! But me... I wanted these floors because they were supposed to be such a high quality. Sure, they look pretty but they don't look pretty when you have super dark floors that dent easily and leave a white mark. We only moved in 5 months ago too! Our floors are matte/cashmere, Java Birch. From the looks of these reviews the customer service sucks but I have not called them yet to know.

"Stay away from unfair comments"
Just want to have some feedback to Michael J. Kruzel comments. I am not surprised to learn that Michael lives in a house of 60 years old. I am surprised that he even know these 60 years old floors were from a local lumber yard. Michael, unless you are the builder, otherwise, you won't know where the floors are from. If you are a builder, you should know that old wood will look incompatible with new wood. No builder will be so stupid to replace the floor in an old house just because he wants oak. No builder will be so stupid just to replace the floor of a bedroom which makes his floor looks very odd. To be honest to you, I don't believe your story. In short, I don't believe your rating and comments.

"Buy anything else"
As mentioned in earlier reviews this flooring is so soft it was scratched and dented before I moved in. After the movers and just walking around, it's worse that I've decided just to make it look intentional-what else can you do? $32,000 of crap. soooo disappointed.

"Read carefully the review"
This review is to response to comments left by Janet D. According to Janet, "the installer laid boards that were dented, gouged, and scratched". My question is "If the board is as bad as Janet mentioned, why the installer did not return the goods to Mirage immediately but continue installing them?" I can only say if Janet is not lying, her installer acted very irresponsibly. To be honest to Janet, I don't quite believe her story.
