"Not sure what to think"
Just had my Shaw hardwood floors installed a week ago. Have already dented a board by dropping a bottle on it.I Thought they were hardwood and would not dent...haha. Floor also dented a little when installer moved the stove. I do notice that the boards have some spaces between them, a few have splits in them, one was not finished properly on the corner and they are not as smooth laying as I would have liked. They were cheaply priced and maybe you do get what you pay for. Only time will tell if I warm up to these floors. Right now I am a little disappointed.

"Shaw Engineered Wood Flooring"
The Shaw walnut engineered wood flooring looks great, but it dings, dents and scratches easily. Laminated flooring holds up better. Absolutely get a floor rug to place over this...Sorry, that defeats the reason for having the flooring. Definitely not a children friendly flooring. There are better flooring chooses...save yourself disappointment. Shaw is deservedly gun shy about offering any help on their flooring. Read their warranty, they exclude themselves from about everything. Buy this flooring and you are on your own with a lot of disappointment.

"Very Unhappy"
We purchased Shaw wood flooring as well, and what a mess. It has delaminated, its splintering, and the store, installer, who sold it to us is out of business. We found a group called the Construction Defect Center that has just started an investigation of Shaw wood flooring, and they were very helpful.

"No matching T molding or stair nosing!"
I purchased Shaw Epic Hickory Jubilee flooring in a 5" plank and had it installed as a floating floor. The installation went well and the floor looked great until I ordered matching t molding ($40.00/ 6 A?A? strip) and bull noses ($50.00/ 6A?A? strip) for my stairs. When the material came in the color was an almost white natural color which did not even come close to matching the flooring. When the store I purchased the flooring through contacted Shaw, then Shaw said they did not make trim pieces to match their Jubilee Honey hickory. They said I needed to buy a top stain to put over their finish of their natural trim if I wanted a match or just live with the very white natural color against the rich honey of the floor. Since the natural molding has their very hard coating on it, the top stain will wear off quickly in any high traffic areas. If I had known there was no matching trim I would never have purchased the flooring.

"Terrible"
Brand new, not even lived in floors are splintering and uneven. We had our home built and the builder installed Shaw hardwood flooring. The quality is terrible. Prior to us moving in, the floor was already splintered and the seems pinch your feet when walking barefoot. They told us this is normal. What??? I have had hardwood for over 20 years and have never experienced that before.

"Floor is Crap"
We remodeled. Gutted main level of home and installed Shaw Engineered hardwood on first floor (900 sqr feet). I noticed "splintering" of wood within 2 weeks of moving back in. Then my 6 year old daughter got a huge sliver in the bottom of her foot while running down the hall.. Shaw inspected and reported that it is "normal" for this floor to splinter and that I make it worse when I clean it...the report I got from Shaw actually says there is no way to really clean the floor..too bad that wasn't on the box. Shaw recommends that I use a stain pen and "fill-in" where the splinters are coming out..Are you kidding me ..I have $5000+ into this floor and I have to stain it myself??? I am not done fighting with them. The floor is only a few months old..Next step; consumer protection and a lawyer.

"My oak hard wood floor."
The hard wood floor has been here for about 5 years. I like the fact that it is Oak Hardwood Floor and that I can easily put carpet on top of it and easily take it off. I also like how spills are very easy to clean up on it and will not stain it. I dislike that it WILL scratch very easily if harmed by unprotected moving chairs and beds or any metals. I never had to repair it, but I have had to put repair items over it for minor scratches from beds and couches. I would buy the same brand, from what I was told it was VERY easy to install and rather cheap. I would recommend it to my friends that have any type of animal in their house with a carpet. Especially if that pet has not been trained to use the bathroom outside of the house or if they are inside a long time.

"Shaw Flooring that dings to easy"
I purchased my new townhome about 2 years ago and picked upgrades from the builder. One of which was a Shaw wood floor that cost me more than the floor is really worth. First of all, they looked lovely for the first few months. But during the first 6 months I realized very fast the flooring was soft and if would ding easily. For example, you cannot where heels or it will indent, you cannot drop anything that is remotely hard such as a set of keys or it indents. The neighbors also have the same floor and theirs is starting to warp in the living room. The floor does not seem to be holding up very well and is not resilient as other floors I have had in the past. When Shaw was contacted about the inferior flooring, they wanted no part of it since I was the buyer, the builder was. The floor was and still is clearly inferior to this day. Also it seems to be discoloring in some spots that are close to doors or windows. The seams don't seem to be as tight as they should be for a wood floor. Absolutely disappointed in the flooring and the lack of customer service from the flooring company. I was also told that the floor would just need to be replaced because its poor quality. Disappointed!
