"Beware"
We had hardwood placed in our home and 2 months later, the planks started splitting. Shaw and Molyneaux Floors blamed moisture, blamed our home contractor, and us for the problem. They stated my expectations were too high. My floor cost over $17,000 And they want to replace the pieces that are split. There are so many split planks throughout the house, and they continue to split, and pull up the finish and stain. This is the worst product I have seen, and we had hardwood in two previous homes with no problems, different manufacturer of course. I'll warn everyone I talk to - do not buy Shaw! Or go to Molyneaux Floors.

"Shaw flooring coming apart at seams 1 week after install"
I had Shaw flooring installed in my home by a professional installer, and within one week the flooring was falling apart and coming apart at the seams. Terrible product. I filed a claim and of course Shaw will do nothing about it. I wish I had found this page before I bought their horrible product. These complaints warrant a class action lawsuit. Shaw's warranty is nothing short of a fraud.

"Bad experience with Shaw engineered flooring...splintering!"
Our Shaw engineered flooring is splintering horribly. My husband even had a huge splinter catch on his sock. We have 40 some splinters in just 600 square feet and more keep appearing. Shaw is trying to blame it on the installers. A 3rd party inspector said it was a manufacturing problem exasperated by installation. Well, of course it is if the flooring is bad! Shaw is trying to put the responsibility on the installers. Don't buy Shaw engineered flooring! It is extremely unreliable and they don't stand behind their product.

"Misleading Gallery Photos"
When I selected Shaw's HW563Prairie00141, a 3/4" solid hickory plank, it was based on a sample provided by a flooring design center. The sample consisted of creams and various shades of brown. The designer helping me select flooring and never told me that this floor would be very colorful with lots of different colors ranging from light to dark. I even went on Shaw's website and looked at the gallery of photos since this wood is supposed to be a high contrast floor. I went into the home last week and the flooring had been laid out. It consists of cream, light and dark browns, which is what I expected, and red, gray and even orange boards. It is so busy that it is hard to look at. When I complained to the subcontractor, they contacted the Shaw representative who supposedly said that since I had signed a disclaimer regarding the color variations, Shaw wasn't willing to do anything and he also supposedly said that Shaw couldn't possibly provide photos for what the floor would actually look like. At this time, it appears that I'm going to be stuck with a very expensive floor that I dislike intensely. How unfortunate that we relied on a sample provided by Shaw.

"Shaw flooring is a rip off"
My wife and I have Shaw laminate flooring and it's garbage. We had it professionally installed by a very reputable company about a year ago and it is already worn out. In many places, it is peeling and flaking apart. There are also areas of very visible discoloration. We contacted Shaw directly and they refuse to do anything about it even though we have had their own salespeople as well as another flooring installation company inspect our floor and tell us that the product is no good. Their customer service is crap and so is their product. Do not go with Shaw flooring. you will regret it. It bears to mention we have two kids and a dog and a "no shoes in the house" rule. We were told that there is no way the floor should be as bad as it is.

"Nothing but garbage..."
This floor is composed of cardboard and ground up wood. Lennar homes installs this garbage in their homes and claims it to be hardwood floors. We had to have a number of boards replaced due to cracking. When they starting pulling the floor up it all cracked into small pieces and that's where we saw the actual composition of the floors...

"DR Horton Home"
We purchased a DR Horton home about a year ago and we are still having issues with our flooring. Basically they have ripped up all the flooring to put down the same board. 1 day after the new boards were put down our floors started having the finish come off, they were splitting in half, sections were coming off and even parts of the floor started to deteriorate. I am meeting with a Shaw representative on Wednesday to see what is next.

"Poor Quality and Short Life"
Paid $13,600 for their supposed top end product with life time guarantee. Only my wife and I live in the house (no kids) - no unusual wear & tear or use. Nine years later several areas are worn down and unsightly. Had a supposed Shaw independent inspector come out to examine for warranty claim (named Raymond) and was denied. Inspector asked leading questions about use of cleaner on floor to develop "his story" on why wear was not a warranty issue. Will never buy Shaw again.

"We're all screwed!"
My engineered hardwood floor starting bubbling up on a couple edges less than a year after we had them installed in our new home. (Just 2 adults living here) Calls to Shaw for customer service got me nowhere! They told us to contact the place where we purchased the flooring. The builder had a flooring guy who sold us the flooring, and when I tried to contact him, I found out that he was in prison (drug charges) and have spent 4 more years unable to talk to him. Shaw does not want to honor their warranty, and they could care less! Now my floor is showing weak areas where the top layer is coming off. Do not purchase from Shaw!
