"I would not buy again Pro Plus Biscayne Oak"
We brought the Coretec Pro Plus 7" Biscayne Oak. We had it installed from the place we purchased it and it is horrible. Some how they ship the boxes with a fine talcum powder that wont clean off. It leaves streaks if you try to clean it. Had the installer back several times to show them the issues. The installers boot prints are still showing up on the flooring. Cant get the foot prints removed. I wish I could post pictures of this mess but if you consider buying the darker flooring ask for a full sample and do the rub test. It will show up and white residue. The small samples don't have this powder. Our sales contacted Coretec and asked about the powder coating, they said it is on most of the dark flooring so they don't scratch during shipping. That's great but how to you removed that dang thing off the floor. We have another installer coming in to try to clean and fix the mistakes the other installer did. We are stuck with this floor, I would think twice about buying this again.

"Lumps and Bumps"
We had Coretec Pro Plus installed the end of January 2019. A free floating floor was what they recommended. Wrong choice. I don't think even if it was glued down if would perform.
It is advertised as waterproof. Apparently only on the top but that was not what our problem was.
After about 3 months one area started to rise. According to dealer, must be from sunlight coming in. When we temp tested the are if never exceeded 90 degrees. According to Coretec manual it would not expand unless the temp exceeded 140 degrees.
After 6 months the floor is not laying flat in numerous areas throughout our house.
We thought about having it glued down but I think with the floor being so unstable that would only create more problems. If it expands after it was glued, it most likely would just crack.
It is exceptionally loud. There is no way it feels like hardwood as advertised. That is what we replaced.
After 6 months, we are now planning to replace the entire floor with a superior product.
Buyer beware. If you are doing a small room, maybe it would work for you. For a large area I would suggest any other product.

"Unknown substance"
Shaw/USFloors sold cork floors that had multiple issues with them. On day 2, I contacted the distributor that there was a black, wet, substance on the surface of the floor. When you touch it, it was slightly indented into the floor. When it eventually solidifies it is level with the floors and rough. I was told that it has to be ink and that the there must have not been enough finish on it. I didn't buy printed cork but the natural cork. After months of getting the run around, I had to do my own investigation. I called the National Wood Flooring Association. They referred me to a "Cork Expert". He said the substance could have come from the resin/adhesive during the manufacturing or oil from the conveyor belt. I didn't even have to show him pictures. He described what it looked like-- varicose veins.
That was just the beginning. There are multiple chips where you can peel with your fingernail, or large gashes (--this was even before I moved in).
When I spoke with Shaw they said they didn't manufacture it. Yet they sell it to distributors who then sell it. They won't take ownership. Just because you can't explain the unknown black substance doesn't mean you're not responsible. I did my research on the pros and cons of Cork floors but not the pros and cons of purchasing from USFloors.

"US floors blamed my humidity level"
Purchased oiled hardwoods from Prosource because it was indicated this was the only wood they would warranty over radiant floor heat. Boards became stressed and cracked within first year. US floors sent "investigator" who blamed the humidity level of my home. I have standard hardwoods throughout the rest of my 100 year old home yet none of those are cracked. They denied claim. Wood flooring expert explained to me that quite a few of my boards should have never been installed in first place as the wood was already distressed. Very disappointed.

"Coretec is garbage and the backing supports mold"
There are many better brands for half the cost. The joints were failing. Mold was growing on the cork backing. The manufacturer will do absolutely nothing. There is a nationwide recall.

"Terrible Quality"
This was very poor quality flooring--as if they have no quality control at all. Got the first batch for 1000 sq. ft. in 2015--the boards had about a 60% defect rate (splits, dents in the finish, slightly different widths ~1mm, improperly finished boards with large polymer "features" in the surface). The supplier replaced some of the defective product, and the second batch was much better--only about 30% defective. This time I got a lot with small beetle holes chewed through the bamboo, and some boxes where about half the tongues were ripped off as if there had been a machine malfunction. I honestly don't know how this company is still in business.

"Beautiful but not durable"
I installed cork flooring in my entire condo. At first glance it is beautiful, the color and texture is unusual and unlike other wood floors. However, it is very delicate and prone to indentions from the slightest pressure of furniture, whether it is a lightweight tripod lamp or a sofa. No furniture can be placed on the floor without floor protectors. If the furniture is bumped or moved slightly, or the legs have an unusual shape (i.e. a plant stand with curved legs), and the floor protectors fall off, you can be assured there will be an indent where the furniture leg touches the floor. In addition because of the texture of the cork it has a tendancy to chip.
I had to order some additional floor boards to replace some that were damaged in the installation. When they were installed they were a different color from the original ones, more brown than grey. Because some of the damaged boards were in the middle of my living room it was very obvious that they were a different color. When I contacted the supplier they had an "independent" inspector come out and look at the floors to see if the manufacturer was responsible for replacing the new boards. He deemed the variation in color was within industry standards and my claim was denied.
The floor is so sensitive that I purchased socks for my dog to wear around the unit to make sure she doesn't damage the floor when she is playing.
I would not recommend this product to anyone. I was not alerted to the sensitivity of the flooring, despite the fact that I questioned how well it would hold up compared to regular hardwood floors and stressed that I wanted something durable.
I'm very disappointed in the product and the manufacturer's response to my concerns.

"Think twice before getting vinyl"
We were told by many people that vinyl was the way to go these days.
We went and got enough to put in much or our house and had it put down 1 week before Christmas (2017).
A couple weeks after; I was sweeping up the floor and found a small dab of pink frosting from my granddaughter. Once I took it up I seen that it had stained it into the plank. I called US Floors right away and suggested that I go to this one web site and order a stain remover. Hello; I thought this was a type of flooring that was going to prevent all this. I guess scratches and being waterproof don't stay stain proof. Make sure you look at the info closely. I had to sit on the floor and use rubbing alcohol to get the stain out. I can still see a small bit color but no one will see it but I'll know it's still there. This flooring was not the cheapest grade quality but I thought I was getting something worth my money.
They would do nothing for me other than if it was a stain of 10% or more to my whole floor. Really I have to have that much of a damage in order to be warranted.

"Garbage Bamboo Flooring Warps"
During the summer of 2016 I installed bamboo flooring. Seven months
after the install (Mid Winter) the boards have warped to a point you can
trip on them. They sent out an inspector to look at the flooring. They
responded that the boards had expanded and since no gap is around the
perimeter and the qtr round is nailed through the floor it could not
move and caused the boards to warp. Flooring during the driest time of
the year shrinks it does not expand as the inspector stated. The
inspector never pulled any qtr round so how he made this claim I give
up. We did pull the qtr round in several areas took pictures to show
there were the proper gaps and no nails went into the floor from the qtr
round. We sent US Floors the pictures but they have not replied. I think
they are hoping this issue I am going to drop, I am not.

"Garbage Bamboo Flooring"
During the fall of 2015 I installed about 700sf of there stranded
bamboo. Since then the installers have returned three times to repair
gapping. A forth time is now required. The boards have shrunk almost
1/2" each. So times that by the number of boards to do a room and it is
obvious why gaps are appearing and it has pulled the bamboo out from
under the qtr round and caused issues with the floor vents too. They
sent out an inspector (certified is questionable) and he was worried
about the floor not being perfectly level and get this stated the
current gaps do not reflect the 1/2" shrinkage. When in his notes it
states it has already been repaired three times. So they have stated it
is not a material defect issue. 1/2" of shrinkage per board and not a
product issue. I do not know what they would consider there issue. A
lawyer may be the only option.
