"Review of Bamboo Rapid Loc"
Purchased this Rapid Loc Custom Surface floor from Menards. The stair
edge trim pieces didn't match the flooring and appeared to be for an
entirely different wood floor. Spoke to Mitch/Customer resolution at
Custom Surface 6/28/16 who stated they use the same stain for all of the
floor and had no resolution to the problem. Read the reviews on this
site and noticed other similar complaints. Floor went back to Menards.
Just fyi to future customers.

"Rapid Loc scratches easily"
Purchased and installed 19 boxes of the Rapid Loc mocha birch. Do not
install if you have children or a dog. It is very soft and scratches
easily. Very disappointed. The only thing nice is a simpleton can install
it. No we would not purchase again.

"Worst floor ever"
I lay floors for a living so believe what I say. Not one thing about
this stuff have I liked and have a long list of problems
1. wood putty everywhere, on the board face itself and on the tongue which makes the boards not fit together at all.
2. very small pieces glued to edge snapping off after very little wear.
3. little pieces of board in every box that not one professional on earth would think to use, leaving me to the only conclusion of them doing this to make you have more waist and in turn buy more product
4. dried up puddles of finish on bottoms of boards that are impossible to get off and if you miss them you will have to take up the floor.
5. tongue is brittle where they didnt heap on putty and will snap off making a weak connection
6. corners on some boards are rounded or broken off leaving a horrible look if not caught when laying
7. this one deserves more attention, who would in good conscious make a hard wood product with big areas of putty on the face of the board.. we are buying an expensive product and deserve better quality than the crap you have given us.
This is all i can think of right now. I've never installed a floor that had me angry and disgusted throughout the entire installation process.. thanks diamond

"Shrinks like crazy"
Everything looked great going in (floating, unstapled), but now I have
two very big (1/4") gaps that have appeared. Also, very noisy pops. I
highly recommend stapling!

"Diamond Superfast Flooring Looks Great, but is Unstable"
I had Diamond Superfast butcherblock flooring installed about a year
ago and I am having the same issues as many of the reviewers. We love
the butcher block look and they seem very resilient. As previously
stated, the short pieces were 1/16" narrower than the others and we
have a tall stack of unused short pieces in our storage room. Other
planks varied in size too, making installation a challenge. We humidify
our home in the winter and still the flooring planks open up in the
winter leaving large gaps. We have had other homes with 3/4" hardwood
and have never had this stability problem. I wish we would have gone
with an engineered hardwood.

"Shrank revealing gaps. Dissatisfied with warranty."
Flooring has shrank over 2" inches on either side of the room. Large
gaps have appeared all over the entire floor, living room and 2 bedrooms
and hallway. Diamondfast has stated no warranty due to the humidity
being below 45%, mine averages 40-65 year round. Flooring is less then a
1 /1/2 years old. Very dissatisfied. Menards has washed there hands of
the entire matter.

"1100 sq ft first floor"
I have mixed feelings. I love the look of the floor. The smaller pieces
are a nuisance and should be removed from the product. The smaller
create work trying to ensure seams don't line up and often they are to
narrow. I found my self using them in the hallway were I could hold the
narrow width for the entire run. They say you can nail them. I did not
try but I really do not think it is possible as the interlock feature
will not allow the use of a standard hardwood floor nail gun. After a
few months I had to take part of the floor up to close some gaps that
pulled the interlock apart. I still have one gap that is to much work to
fix. The floor squeaks as it was not flat enough allowing rocking. But I
absolutely love the look of the butcher block look. Not having to nail
it is a lot easier. I learned to remove the baseboard and cut under the
drywall to allow the requested 1/2 expansion. I just bought more for 1/2
of my second floor. So I have now bought 73 + 35 boxes.

"Gaps and big cracks"
I purchased the super fast diamond hard wood flooring that look like the
butcher board flooring. Love the flooring the way it looks but all the
small pieces that were installed are not the same size width so it gives
you bigger gaps at all the starting boards. You only get 4 starter
boards per box so you have to use them and they make the floor look
horrible with the big cracks between the boards. I love the look of the
wood but not happy with the way my turned out for sure.

"Real Oak"
I read a review that stated the pieces didn't blend well at all. I
couldn't disagree more. What you have in this product is real oak
pieces. That is why I chose this floor. I love the look of real wood.
Because this is real wood, each piece will stain slightly different.
That's what real oak does. So if you find beauty in the real variations,
this is the product for you. If not, don't buy it.

Review:
"Superfast Diamond Golden Oak Flooring"
This flooring is click together engineered floor. Problem is with the
color consistency of stain. Board cartons came in two different colors,
a Golden Oak and a much darker rust color. Either color was fine, but I
wish I had known that I should have ordered twice as much of the product
so that I could have chosen one of the two colors since they were so
different and did not blend together at all. Also ordered the "matching"
quarter round and it was much lighter than the floor and did not match
anything. Floor ended up looking striped/color blocked instead of
blending together. I contacted the company but they really did not care.
They said if I didn't like it I should have brought it back to Menards
and chose a different product from another company. They told me they
could send me a couple cartons and I could tear it out and start over or
I could refinish the floor which would void the warranty. They also said
that the trim should be matched to the board it will be next to, but
that was impossible since the trim did not match any of the boards. They
suggested I could get some Minwax and redo all the trim. I do like the
look of the boards individually and it would be a beautiful floor if the
colors blended, but the extreme difference in the two stain colors once
it is installed makes my floor look like I bought leftover remnants of
two different colors and didn't care how it looked. Also, the short
boards in the cartons were 1/16" narrower than the other board lengths
which made it almost impossible to use most of them (especially
difficult since there is only one of the short pieces in each box). The
floor is a big disappointment.
